Ryan AnthonyMichael Chey is having a fabulous month. He celebrated his 13th birthday which is always fun. The short film he did a few months ago, "Legend of Beaver Dam" won first place for shorts at the SCREAM FILM FESTIVAL. And he booked a very large GUEST STAR role on FOX-TV's "HOUSE" and just finished 8 days on that. For those of you who don;t know Michael, he is the first boy on the left in maroon sweater.... Episode is scheduled to air Valentines Day 2011...
This week Britt Flatmo has had the privilege of meeting and working with one of Hollywood's most exciting writer-directors-- J J Abrams --- known for projects like LOST, Felicity, Alias, the new series Undercovers and the film he is producing with Steven Spielberg that comes out next summer "SUPER 8" and Britt is part of this cast! A very exciting opportunity. Britt plays the younger sister of another former YPSer, "A J Michalka.
Britt has also been elevated from a supporting role to the lead role in another film, "Detour in Life" and we're waiting for word on start date after she finished Super 8 in December and who will play her father --- possibly Joaquin Phoenix ..... and she is still possibly going to do a film with Carla Gugino.... looks like 2011 will be a great year for Britt.

The entire Cortes Family booked a HUGE T-Mobile print job and soon you will see various members of their family in the T-Mobile stores -- Here's a shot on location of this great looking family!
ANDREA has shot TWO episodes for "Make It Or Break It" on ABC Family network...And in just a few weeks she will be competing in the MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN PAGEANT --
By the way, the also very attractive ADELL FAMILY was on hold for this T-MOBILE job as well -- Wow, wouldn't have been fabulous if both families had been used! And KUDOS to our group -- we send in two families, both get callbacks and both on hold and one books the job!! Almost forgot, we "loaned" Isabella Oliviera to the Adells for their family when they needed an older sister for callback!

It was great seeing JAKE BORELLI on TV twice in one week on two different networks----- playing the cute and loveable DORK Harvey on True Jackson on Nickelodeon and a calculating KILLER on NCIS on CBS.
BRANDON PAGE worked 2 days this week filming an industrial -- as a surfer which he can do quite well!
He is also going to be feature in a magazine focusing on vintage wear! I've seen TINA MIRKA's"Kaplan University commercial several times -- have you? And she has a Wii party internet spot due out soon!
Saw DEJI LA RAY on "Outlaw", missed him on CSI:NY, waiting to see him soon in "Love Bites" and it looks like that may become a recurring role! ISABELLA OLIVIERA " pinned" for an episode of SOUTHLAND... GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW offered SEBASTIAN MENDOZA a recurring spot on their TBS show but the Mendozas are planning to spend most of the coming year in Florida so als, Seb couldn;t take the job! Hopefully George will invite him back when he returns to L.A.
Received letters stating that ASHLEY GREENE was edited out of VERIZON and OMARI CUNNINGHAM edited out of NIKE-- that's always sad news -- Turns out that it was mistake for NIke and Omari is not cut out of his commercial but looks like we won;t see Ashley in Verizon- but here is pic from her shoot!

I was hoping to have some OFFICIAL news on a couple PENDING bookings but not yet so going to go ahead and send out this quick update because we have had some great things happen in the past week!And more to come I am sure!SUPER SUPER CONGRATS to WILL KNOP who has just been offered a 3-yr contract with Disney to be a Disney 365 Host which is very cool, loads of fun and can mean exciting travel to destinations all over the world!
WILL KNOP ANDREA CORTESVERY EXCITING LAST WEEK for BRITT FLATMO was attending her first REALLY BIG DEAL RED CARPET PREMIERE in New York City for "Life As We Know it"..... check this out! After the intro info, the first cast member to be interviewed by Jason Drew was BRITT so watch the youtube video beyond the first 30-50 seconds!!AND POSSIBLY EVEN MORE EXCITING is that while Britt was in new York I got a call offering her a supporting role in one of the BIGGEST films due out summer 2011-- ssshhhh! Not supposed to talk about it yet-- very secretive project!
Jake Borelli's episode of N.C.I.S. is due out on CBS Tuesday October 12. And it looks like Sami Klein may book another episode as well although still waiting on FINAL word on that one -- here's hoping her character stays in the script!And KYERRA CHEYENNE booked a VOLKSWAGEN radio commercial last week.And for the second Friday in a row, Deji La Ray's episode of Outlaw was bumped to another week -- when the episode about faulty brakes airs, HE WILL BE IN IT, I promise!Watch from soon in "Love Bites" also....
So, not a terribly BUSY-BUSY week but all in all a very good one and we have some actors who are definitely steadily MOVING UP and BREAKING OUT!!!! Such a good group --- soooo proud!!

September has gotten off to a good start ---
DONIS LEONARD has been especially busy this month with a Toyota commercial to shoot and TWO episodes of the Nickelodeon series, "THE FRESH BEAT BAND".

Went to two film screenings this past week-- one is a short film "Jim" which starred SARAH GOLDEN and featured other YPS kids, Cole Mears, Kiev and Kyerra, Michael Chey. Sarah did a wonderful job and will have a very nice dramatic scene for a demo reel..

SARAH GOLDENAlso went to Warner Brothers for cast & crew screening of "Life as We Know It"-- Josh Duhamnel and wife Fergie were especially friendly and gracious and BRITT FLATMO is very excited about seeing them again in 2 weeks when she flies to NEW YORK for the red carpet premiere. How fun will that be!!! The movie hits theatres on October 8 -- it's a very cute romantic comedy...
C J BRYANT, SEBASTIAN MENDOZA, and SHELBY ZOLINA all worked on LOPEZ Tonight for TBS last week. RYAN ANTHONY was almost cast for a bit as well but as much as producers liked him, they didn't have the right sketch for him this time -- but I fully expect them to call YPS for MANY kids -- they were very impressed! They also want to use SEBASTIAN again this week but he is in Miami -- so they may even do something by remote or skype!
TINA MIRKA had the very good fortune of booking a Wii commercial even though she missed the callback --- That's proof of how very special she is when they like her so much they book her from the first round!
ASHLEY NICOLE GREENE just got back to L.A. 10 days ago and right out of the gate she booked a big VERIZON commercial campaign! So watch for a commercial with a cute girl in a putt-putt golf course...
KIEV RHYSE had a great time filming commercial for GOGURT and TANNER BLAZE shot a SAFECO commercial and also a print job for SAFECO.
SOFIA ADELL has been VERY BUSY ---- in the past few weeks she has filmed for NFL Promo, Muzzy Conn Electrical Works, Marco el Mago Language training video, and Wii! Little brother Emilio just did a job for ROSE ART...
BRANDON PAGE played a drugged out kid in a film for GOLDEN ERA PRODUCITIONS. MICHAEL CHEY was just cast as GUS, the lead in "Randee Mickleberry, I love you" a CHAPMAN film...

Bella King has been staying very busy in Vancouver, Canada. She just finished filming in the Amanda Seyfried movie."Red Riding Hood" and has an episode of Eureka airing later this month on SyFy network...
JAKE BORELLI has been quite busy this summer filming several episodes of "TRU JACKSON", small roles in the features "Free Enterprise 2" and"The Nesting" and has now booked another episode of "GREEKS" so he is recurring on that show as a pledge
TINA MIRKA juggling her schedule for shooting in two films this month -- "The Measure of a Man" and " ABBY 33". In both films she plays the young lead and both are "period" pieces that take place in different decades.

KIEV RHYSE has a very nice OREO cookie commercial airing now... "The Response" The AFI short film that Kiev was in won the British Academy Film Television Arts Festival . Kiev was also seen this summer in Episode 3 of a series on ION network called "Get Thee Behind Me" -- he plays younger version of a lead and the role of the grandma was played by the real grandma of Kiev's friend Donis Leonard!
And Donis had the good fortune of seeing his PIZZA hut commercial become TWO spots!
Kiev's sister Kyerra did an Epi Pen commercial before heading to Atlanta for a summer visit with relatives there while Kiev went to our July boot camp session.

The CORTES FAMILY is staying very busy with JOY THEATRE improv performances in NOHO as well as auditioning, getting lots of callbacks and some good bookings..We should see Peter, age 7 in a STATE FARM insurance commercial any day now... Gabe has shot a couple industrials, Andrea has a webisode called "Is it Me" airing Sept 16 and Matthew has a big callback tomorrow for the role of MR BIG in "Tru Jackson"
Some of our youngest clients had an especially good week and are filming commercials this week -- ABIGAIL YOUNG, not quite 7, booked her VERY FIRST Commercial audition in L.A., a big job for Target which includes a commercial and some print work -- much fun!
RYAN ANTHONY has steadily been getting callbacks and was happy to hear he really and truly booked a commercial! This is for IDAHO POTATO commission...
C J BRYANT just booked the big deal, keep it hush-hush "Project X" commercial which is actually a Playstation commercial so should be a lot of fun!
BRITT FLATMO has a COMPOUND W commercial that is being renewed so you'll see more of her on screen. She has two other projects coming up --- She was cast in the feature film, "DETOUR IN LIFE" and would have filmed that by now but the lead actor was COREY HAIM who died last March. His role was re-cast but still no hard schedule for filming on the books. Britt is also the top choice for a feature film in which she'll play the daughter of Carla Gugino, SPY KIDS mom...She also went in last month to add a couple lines of dialogue in the film "Life as We Know It" which stars Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel-- Britt spent 5 weeks in Atlanta last fall filming --- has quick clip in the trailer ---and some nice scenes in the final edit that will hit theatres in October..
A lot of clients have been vacationing a lot this summer --- MATT and SARAH GOLDEN took a long vacation to Florida -- but Matt took the CHSPE exam before he left and PASSED so he has his legal 18 status now- yippee! SYDNEY BLOOM went off to sleep-away camp as did DESTINY WHITLOCK and the whole Whitlock family went to Colorado...as did BRANDON HENDER. COLE MEARS just got back from a few weeks in ALASKA and had two appts today! AURIELE AMES has missed numerous appts but has been having a fabulous experience spending a month in Israel! The Cortes family is trying to get away for a week in Puerto Rico with friends and family but keep postponing the trip -- Anissa Davis has been spending a lot of time in Texas this summer, celebrated her 18th birthday there last weekend and is returning to L.A. soon to start college at CSUN.

BELLA KING is fast becoming a "top dog" in Vancouver, B.C. Lucky girl has dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship so I sent her to my favorite Canadian agent in Vanouver since her family recently moved from Chicago area to Seattle ---
In less than a month she has had numerous auditions, many callbacks and TWO bookings! First she booked a role in the upcoming Amanda Seyfried feature film, "Girl with the Red Riding Hood" -- Bella plays Solomon's daughter and it is rumored that Gary Oldman will play Solomon...
Today she has officially booked a possibly recurring role on the TV series EUREKA, in its 4th season on SY FY network...
So if anyone else has Canadian citizenship in their back pocket let me know!
JAKE BORELLI just booked a full week as guest star on the series TRUE JACKSON... and hopefully will be able to get off set from that to make it to producers for a TV movie filming in Atlanta later this summer...
SARAH GOLDEN will be filming lead in a short Festival Film next week --- Not sure of the title -- it was original written for a boy and she auditioned for a supporting role and the writer-director decided to re-write with her as the lead!

ALEX DEAN is currently in rehearsals for stage production of "ALL MY SONS" which opens in June
Performing on stage near the end of June will be KIEV RHYSE in the play, "Snapshot of My Family" -- this is part of the YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL and there are many "big" TV stars cast in these 12 plays and this one is directed by top casting director APRIL WEBSTER who casts Lost, Criminal Minds, Dark Blue, Leverage and other top shows. This has been a truly fabulous week and hopefully we can keep up this trend!
MOLLY JACKSON, age 7, had a really wonderful time filming a Ray O Vac commercial at Disneyland this week. She was a fairy princess who turns a stroller into a horse and carriage. This was Molly's second commercial in just a few weeks of arriving in L.A.
SAMMI CECUTTI, also 7, is filming DOMINOs pizza commercial today . Both Molly and Carissa Flores also had callbacks for this so I was confident that one of them would book!
We're all excited for AMY LAWHORN who just booked an episode of the series, BONES, shoots that next week... Below is link to her webisodes also...

mid-September 2009 update
WOW! We've had a great month and of course the week I was on a cruise and hard to reach was a SUPER-WEEK. But oddly, it has always been like that -- it seems that if I take off for a "real vacation" week, there is a surge of activity -- and bookings too!
The most exciting news is that BRITT FLATMO, age 12 just booked a supporting role in the new Katherine Heigl/Josh Duhamel feature film, "Life As We Know it" and will be spending several weeks in Atlanta, filming many scenes with Josh and Katherine...And when she finishes that project she is slated to film "Detour in Life" with Corey Haim in Sacramento... We are also hopeful that she'll work on the show "Medium" this season --- She had a great meeting with production staff there this week and they stated that they want to get her in the show.

Another exciting bit of news was that ISABELLA OLIVIERA was one of the final choices for the recurring role of Ivy on the new series "Good Luck Charlie". Isabella is 16 and has been with YPS for 4 years but not very active the past year
because she has been attending the LA. School of Performing Arts and that keeps her very busy. She is just gearing up again to be active and this was a great start! Sadly, someone else got the role but I think almost every girl ages 13-17 auditioned for that role so to be one of the final two "on hold" for a week was a real achievement

Almost immediate success for little ( and I do mean little) MOLLY JACKSON age 7
from El Paso. Barely in town a week or so and she booked a SAG national commercial for CVS. Good strong start! Maybe she'll be as lucky as AIDEN ROSS, also a small 7 who booked Subway his first week in town last October and the commercial "split" into several different spots. Wish we could get this New Yorker back into L.A. for more than a minute so he could book some more!
Locally grown California kid in the group is OLIVIA FINE who just turned 6 this month-- that very important "LEGAL 6 STATUS" that will increase her auditions considerably. But at age 5 she still did okay --- today she is recording another episode of the Nickelodeon series "Ni Hao Kai Lan" she has been doing for several months and she has a Comcast commercial airing that she filmed a couple months ago....
Another locally grown California kid is ASPEN CRUZ, age 10 -- she's got several commercials airing --- Disneyland, Downy and just filmed WALMART this week.
While filming on location, someone who lived in the neighborhood stopped by to see what was going on and Aspen snapped a picture with him -- Jon Heder aka Napoleon Dynamite...

Lots of projects to see our YPSers on screen --- Anxiously awaiting the opening of FAME next week-- you'll see both ELI MYERS and NICK GRIMES in the film-- should see them both a fair amount throughout the film, they both had speaking roles but who knows what the final cut will include...
On TV this week --- CARTOON NETWORK's new "Scooby Doo movie" which is story about how the four became friends as teenagers features HAYLEY KIYOKO in the lead role of Velma.... Also, the role of Daphne is played by Kate Melton who came from Oklahoma in 2004 and got her start at YPS....
